Here at the Mountain Activity Section Northern area, we’ve a busy programme of meets in scenic locations for actively exploring Northern England’s great outdoors. Get outside and join us this spring, summer and autumn in the mountains, fells, moors and coast for an active getaway. We’d love to see you there. All Camping and Caravanning Club members are welcome.

  • Sites normally open at 2pm.
  • Booking is not necessary (unless advertised) but contacting the steward beforehand is recommended (but not required).
  • Fresh water,  and disposal facilities for chemical toilet and grey water always available. 
  • Own sanitation required unless advertised differently. 
  • All directions, map references and changes to this programme will appear in Out & About. 
  • Prices are per unit per night (pun).

Start the year for our Easter Meet here in Wensleydale. Beautiful scenery, lots of walking and CHEESE! (note meet ends Easter Monday).

In the heart of the Pennines with beautiful views and walking from site.

We are hosting the Festival of Walking & Cycling, and the Section AGM at this meet.  Good walking area in the Northern Yorkshire Dales close to the Wensleydale railway and bus service. Any help with walks or stewarding will be gratefully received.

17/05-20/05: 3 nights. Wood End Farm, Austwick, LA2 8DH
Good walking and cycling from site. In the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Close to the 3 peaks and Crummockdale and a good time of year for the spring flowers. (Invite from NELDA).

24/05-03/06: 10 nights. Kemplerigg Farm, Gosforth, CA20 1JD
Return to our usual holiday site to enjoy the scenery and walking in the Western Lakes. Lots to do, whether you like the challenge of the fells or a walk along the seashore. Eskdale railway and Muncaster Castle are some of the nearby attractions.
