Hello, we’re MAS Northern!
We love camping, walking and cycling in the most beautiful parts of Northern England. From the mountains and dales to moorlands, and stretching from coast to coast, you’ll find us following paths.
We’re the Northern area of The Mountain Activity Section (MAS), the oldest special interest section of The Camping and Caravanning Club. First established in 1932, we’re a volunteer organisation run by members of the Club. We host 3 – 5 day camping meets with a special interest in walking and cycling in the North of England, sometimes Wales and southern Scotland.
We offer some of the most inexpensive camping available and you’ll always be guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome. All members of the Camping and Caravanning Club are welcome to attend our meets.
At MAS Northern Area, we organise camping meets from spring through autumn in Yorkshire, Cumbria and Lancashire. Sometimes you’ll find us in northern Wales and Scotland too.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. If you’ve never camped with us before, it can be re-assuring to contact someone first.
