Uphill waterfall in Yorkshire Dales

Limestone pavements, pot holes, waterfalls, mountains, National trails. Every year, you’ll always find MAS Northern camping, walking and cycling in our beloved Yorkshire Dales National Park: Horton-in-Ribblesdale, Austwick, Settle, Hawes, Leyburn.

Whitby, North Yorkshire Coast and Moors

Yes, MAS Northern does like to be beside the seaside too. This year’s North Yorkshire coast meet took us to High Straggleton Farm. Panoramic sea views, dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches, abbeys and national walking trails. High Straggleton Farm had it all.

Sitting in an elevated position between Whitby and Sandsend with panoramic views of the North Sea and surrounding countryside, it was perfect for dramatic cliff walking along  the gorgeous Cleveland Way, for enjoying a sandy beach day and exploring the sights of Whitby. A cycle down memory lane in the Club’s Archive

Anyone remember when camping and cycling were like this? When a club has a history as long as the Camping and Caravanning Club, and the Mountain Activity Section within that, chances are you won’t.

But some things never change: views of the hills, a great sunset, bicycles propped up all around, and some good old campsite nourishment.  Though, fancy a different kind of cycling outfit, anyone? And maybe the camping accommodation has become a little more complicated (or convenient).
